Tube Bending

Noble Industries has the equipment and knowledge to handle all your pipe and tube bending needs!  Bending pipe and tube can be simple or it can take to look of an artist and has a science of its own.  When a tubular product is bent there is a chance of distortion if it is bent too fast or outside the tolerance of the material.  Other factors that must be considered include wall thickness and the degree of the bend.   Most of our large production is done with our CNC tube bending equipment.  We also have hand bending equipment that takes fixturing.  CNC bending produces tight & exact radius bends, large & small radius bends, and elliptical bends - all on the same part.  The most expensive part to some tube bending or pipe bending jobs could be the type of unique tooling or fixture to produce production parts and quality check the results.

Our custom tube bending methods include ram bending, rolling, mandrel bending & rotary-draw bending.

Ram Tube Bending

Ram tube and pipe bending, is a method that forces a die against the section of tube or pipe where the bend is wanted. The die will push against the sidewall of the material and force it to bend, there are also opposing dies on the other sidewall. This will force the tube or pipe to conform to the contours of the die or tooling.

Roll Tube Bending

Roll tube and pipe bending draws the material through rollers to apply pressure to the tube as it goes through the rollers.  The positions of the rollers are progressively changed during operation until the desired radius is met. This method allows for a more gradual bending and less distortion on the tube or pipe being bent.

Mandrel Tube Bending

Mandrel tube bending is used when the bent pipe and tube must have none or very little deformation.  The pipe and tube is supported internally with a flexible mandrel which supports the material so that the bend occurs without interior collaspe or deforming.

Rotary-draw Tube Bending

A rotary draw bend is formed by drawing the part around the rotating bend former. The leading edge of the material to be bent is clamped to the bend forming die, while material rests between the forming die groove and the opposing force, commonly referred to as the counter bend or pressure die. The forming die rotates to desired degree of bend completing the process.
